Personal Motto: Everything in moderation – even excess.
What’s in your iPod: A little bit of everything. My current playlist has a bunch of Goldfrapp, Ladytron, Thievery Corporation, Nine inch Nails, Radiohead. Seriously though, a little of everything.
Favorite Movies: City of God, Pulp Fiction, The Fountain
Off the bike activities: I’ve got two motorcycles that I try to ride as often as possible. I did one big trip last year and am already planning a bigger one for the end of the racing season in 2009. The past two winters I’ve been backcountry skiing a lot in addition to training. I love good food and wine, so cooking and eating well are high on my list of year round pleasures. I’ve got a house that I’ll never finish fixing up, which is OK since I actually like doing a lot of that work in the off season.
Bio:
I started racing at 14 years old, did my first race in Europe at 16, and it’s been one big adventure since then. I raced as an under-23 in the U.S. and Europe throughout my time in college at the University of Colorado. I was fortunate to leave there with a degree in Applied Mathematics as well as four collegiate national championships. My career highlights since then have included seven individual elite national titles, 19 NORBA/NMBS victories, multiple world cup podium appearances, and a spot on the 2004 Olympic team in Athens.
I currently enjoy tremendous support from the Subaru/Gary Fisher team, and am fortunate to be able to race my bike and be an ambassador for them literally all over the world.
