Bio- I first got into racing when I was 13 because my Uncle suggested that I should try out a race. I was hooked after my first race and I did every race I could possibly do as a junior. I ended up getting invited to join the USA Cycling U23 National Development team when I was 18. They provided a great opportunity for me to get a bunch of international experience and also provided me a place to live at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. I was lucky enough to land a spot on the Subaru/Gary Fisher team in ’07. Things with Subaru/Gary Fisher have been awesome. I have learned a ton from my teammates and the team staff, the support has been flawless, and they have just been really good to me in general.
I have been spending my winters in Tucson, AZ where I live with my brother Andy who is also a pro racer. It is really cool having a brother who is into the racing scene. Everyone thinks that we must be super competitive against each other but we are actually really supportive. I would rather have Andy beat me than anyone else, so it’s a cool dynamic. During the summer I relocate to Missoula, MT because it is pretty much the coolest place ever. My parents are fixtures of the racing circuit and with no prompting from me they tend to show up to a high percentage of the races to cheer Andy and I on.
