I grew up playing all the usual youth sports but gradually learned that I was not so good at the ball-sports and better at the endurance sports. In eighth grade, I was introduced to cycling through my alpine ski team as a way to stay fit over the summer. After a couple of years of riding and casual racing, I quit ski racing and dedicated myself entirely to mountain biking. That following summer, I made it to the Junior World Championships and knew that cycling was something that I wanted to pursue professionally. I joined the USA Cycling U23 National Development Mountain Bike Team the following year and benefited immensely from the domestic and international racing experience that the National Team provided. Now on Kenda/Tomac/Hayes, I hope to learn from my teammates and prove my worth racing mostly domestically. I also want to finish up school at Colorado College in the next year (ok, maybe two).
