Lea grew up in Northern Vermont spending much of her time competing as a downhill ski racer in the winter and running in the Fall. While ski racing for MiddleburyCollege in 2002, she tore her ACL and, from that point on, focused more on mountain bike racing. She competed in the Junior World Championships in Vail, CO in 2001 and then spent multiple years chasing the NORBA dream on Team Devo.
She is coached by fellow Vermonter Andy Bishop. Her passion is finding rope swings and swimming holes, getting the next generation of females riding mountain bikes through the Little Bellas, and everything that has to do with Vermont maple syrup. Check out the story behind the bright green 350.org armband she wears at the U.S Cup here (http://www.350.org/athletes) and find out how you can get involved.
